Hamilton County Endodontics

CBCT (3-D Imaging)

Hamilton County Endodontics has Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) technology. CBCT constructs a distortion-free, 3-D image without the anatomic superimposition of 2-D radiographs. Now we can see inside a tooth, as well as around the tooth from any direction. This can save you both time and money by giving us information to find the most effective treatment option for you before even touching the tooth. Patient radiation dose is low, and image acquisition is quick and comfortable for the patient. Our CBCT can improve diagnosis and treatment in the following ways:
  • Identification of ways to save teeth that would otherwise need to be extracted
  • Identification of teeth that can't be saved before time and money is wasted
  • Diagnosis of disease in the teeth or bone that is unclear or not visible in 2-D radiographs
  • Location of additional canals
  • Identification of root canal system anomalies and root curvature
  • Assessment of treatment complications
  • Diagnosis and management of dental injuries (root fractures, loose teeth, bone fractures, etc.)
  • Diagnosis of unusual disorders that may be confused with tooth disease
  • Location of bone defects
