We have Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT technology).  CBCT is a 3-D image that shows features of the tooth that are not visible on 2-D radiographs.  CBCT has numerous advantages including (but not limited to): fast imaging, low patient radiation, and the ability to identify ways to save teeth that otherwise would need extraction.  In

Non-Surgical and Surgical Root Canals

Root Canal Treatment

We specialize in root canal treatments to relieve pain and save your natural teeth.  A root canal is typically needed when there is inflammation or infection in the roots of the tooth.  When root canal treatment is performed, the pulp (center layer of the tooth) is removed.  The inside of the tooth is cleaned, disinfected, and the canals are shaped and sealed with a filling material. 

Retreatment

If you have a previously treated tooth that is causing pain or infection, our endodontists can perform a retreatment to remove any remaining bacteria and save your tooth. Click learn more to learn more about how a retreatment is performed.

Apicoectomy (Surgery)

Occasionally, a nonsurgical root canal procedure alone cannot save your tooth and surgery may be necessary.  The most common surgery to save the tooth is called an apicoectomy, or root-end resection.   Our specialists remove the tip of the tooth root and seal it to prevent further infection.  Local anasthetics make the procedure comfortable, and most patients return to their normal activities the next day.  Click below to watch a video about apicoectomy.
